The Senior Director of Operations gave a construction progress update on the 825 Tech Center Drive project at the Aug. 11 committee meeting, reporting that the project is advancing on both exterior site work and interior finishes.
Progress highlights: the director said course paving and parking reconfiguration are in place, crews have shifted parking to allow work on the back lot, solar-carport foundations are in place on both sides of the facility, and a bioswale/stormwater facility is completed at the front of the building. The director said the third-floor interior casework and finishes are well underway, with LVT floor installation and bathroom tile near completion.
Schedule and finances: the presenter said the building UPS (backup battery) is installed and that the project is roughly "73 percent complete." He said that June invoicing reflected about 31% (slide note corrected during presentation) and that July pay applications (received the day of the meeting) moved total invoiced amounts to an estimated ~65% (staff to finalize figures). Approved allowances and contingency spend to date totaled about 53% of allowance/contingency budgets, the director said.
Public access and tours: the director invited council members to schedule site tours and highlighted pedestrian improvements including a new multi-use trail along the site's frontage. He also noted weather delays had affected paving timing and that some police egress paving remained to be completed.
Next steps: the director said interior finish work will continue, solar carport structures will be erected in the coming weeks and staff will provide updated financials when July pay-app data are complete.
