The Abilene Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of zoning case KZ202538 to rezone approximately 0.4 acres at 525 South Treadway from heavy industrial to light industrial.

Clarissa Ivy, planner for the city of Abilene, presented the staff report and said staff recommended approval and had received no public responses. Adrian Guerrero, agent for the property owner, said he intends to open a used‑car lot and introduced himself as an Abilene native with 20 years in the car business.

There were no objections voiced during the public hearing. Commissioner Barnett moved to approve; Halliburton seconded and the motion carried with recorded yes votes from commissioners in attendance.

The developer will proceed to site plan and permitting steps required for vehicle sales on the lot, subject to applicable city regulations for light‑industrial uses and vehicle sales operations.
