The City of Southlake Planning and Zoning Commission on Oct. 9 voted unanimously to approve the minutes from its Sept. 18 meeting and to adopt staff recommendations for case ZA25-0064, a plat revision tied to a previously approved seven-lot subdivision.
The chair of the Southlake Planning and Zoning Commission opened the meeting at 6:38 p.m. and moved quickly through an abbreviated agenda. A city staff member presented case ZA25-0064, saying the property’s future land use designation is low-density residential and the zoning is SF-1A. The presentation showed the previously approved concept plan with seven lots, each over an acre, and an accompanying tree-preservation plan.
The commission opened a public hearing on the item and recorded no public comments; the hearing was closed before the commission voted. A commission member moved to approve case ZA25-0064 along with the staff report dated Oct. 3, 2025, and the Plat Revision Summary No. 1 dated Oct. 3, 2025. The motion passed 5-0. Earlier in the meeting the commission also voted 5-0 to approve the minutes from the Sept. 18, 2025 meeting.
City staff told the commission the proposed revision “conforms with all previous approvals” and noted applicable state statutes govern review and comment on the matter; staff did not identify a specific statute during the hearing. No amendments to the previously approved plat, the lot layout, or the tree preservation plan were proposed during the meeting.
Other administrative items included a staff announcement that a corridor planning committee meeting is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 27, at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers; staff said packets for that meeting should be available to commissioners by Oct. 24. The commission adjourned at 6:46 p.m.
The approvals recorded on Oct. 9 complete the commission’s formal sign-off on the Oct. 3 staff materials for ZA25-0064; any subsequent land-use or plat recording steps were not discussed at the meeting and were not acted on by the commission.
