Code enforcement gives 6114 E. Sixth St. 30 days; demolition permit for accessory structure will expire March 2026

The special magistrate found the parcel at 6114 East Sixth Street in the Callaway area in violation of Bay County Code Chapter 17 for two unfit, unsafe mobile homes and an unfit accessory structure, along with derelict vehicles, junk and debris.

Investigators Robert Clarkson and Scott Thorpe presented photos and inspection notes showing extensive exterior damage, exposed wiring, missing windows, rotted rim joists and a deteriorated roof. Inspector Thorpe reported that structure B previously identified has been removed and that the accessory structure (structure C) has an issued demolition permit that expires March 12, 2026.

The magistrate noted that the respondent obtained a demolition permit for the accessory structure and had removed one previously declared unfit mobile home; the county will allow the demolition window to run its course. The owner or responsible parties have 30 days to bring the property into compliance for remaining violations. If the accessory structure is not removed before the permit expiration, the county will schedule further enforcement after the permit period; compliance hearing for outstanding issues is set for Nov. 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.

Staff advised the court that certified notices were delivered to multiple addresses on the file and that family members were assisting with cleanup. The magistrate recorded that costs for abatement could become a lien on the real or personal property if enforcement is needed.
