The Finance Advisory Committee approved the minutes for a prior meeting by roll call. Antonio Beshu moved to approve the minutes and Terry Hargreaves seconded. Committee members Bai Shu, Hargreaves, Vice Chair Saldivar and Chair Lee all voted “yes” in the roll-call tally and the motion carried.
Staff reported that the committee’s mission statement — previously approved by the committee — has been posted on the city website in the same area as other committees and commissions. A committee member asked that future Finance Advisory Committee meetings be recorded and provided publicly, citing public interest in Measure W spending. Tracy, the clerk, stated on the record that the meeting was being recorded and that she had spoken with Danny earlier and the recording would be captured.
Committee members discussed logistical limits to recording in the current meeting room and asked IT to check whether audio recording is feasible in this location; staff said a planned technology upgrade to the council chamber will expand recording capability and staff will explore options, including moving to the council chambers if necessary to capture meetings for public distribution.
The meeting adjourned after committee member comments and scheduling discussion; staff said they expect to hold a planning meeting in January to review first-quarter Measure W data and that the committee will be given dates well in advance.
