County reviews revised plan for seven-bay Rockwell building, requests floor-plan changes

County staff told the board that plans for a proposed seven-bay building with an adjacent wash grate at the Rockwell facility are progressing and that architects are revising the design at staff request.
Brandon said the current plan showed a single bathroom and a dedicated office; staff asked architects to replace the dedicated office with a larger break room that would house board voting materials, time cards and related systems, and to add an additional bathroom. He said architects will provide revised floor plans and that he will distribute them to supervisors after the architect returns from a conference.
Brandon said the design team was also researching alternate building-construction options to present multiple approaches. The county did not set a construction bid or procurement timeline in the session; staff said the project remains on the schedule established by prior agreement with the designers.
Supervisors requested updates as revised plans become available. No formal action was taken at the Oct. 6 meeting.
