Board approves downtown wayfinding stickers, amphitheater sponsors, sewer fund appropriation and public-art installations

The Board of Public Works and Safety voted on Aug. 18 to approve a series of routine permits, partnerships and one budgetary appropriation affecting downtown events, public art and sewer utility capital spending.

Among the actions, the board approved blocking two parking spaces on Main and Madison from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for the First Fridays event on Sept. 5; permission to install semi-permanent directional sidewalk sticker signage downtown, funded by Discover Downtown Franklin and an Economic Development Commission grant; the mayor’s signature on four 2025 amphitheater sponsor memoranda of understanding (MOUs) at $500 each; and a budgetary resolution (No. 25-14) appropriating $72,717 from the Sewer Utility Fund (6201) to the Sewer Wastewater Treatment Plant Capital Outlay appropriation for a Bobcat purchase.
