The Highland Park City Council voted June 2 to approve a vending license application from Roni LLC, which operates as Little Jimmy’s Italian Ice.
Councilwoman Martin moved to approve the application; Councilman Al Shafi seconded. Council members recorded unanimous support during a roll call vote: Councilman Ashafi (yes), Councilwoman Martin (yes), Councilwoman Manuka (yes), Council Pro Tem Robinson (yes) and Council president Thomas (yes). The clerk noted vending licenses are annual and therefore appear before council each year for renewal.
There were brief questions about the difference between vending and business licenses and confirmation that the vendor had previously held a license and was reapplying; no citizen objected during the hearing, and the council carried the motion.
The applicant was identified in council materials as Roni LLC, Little Jimmy’s Italian Ice. Administration will complete any standard licensing paperwork and issue the one‑year permit.
