Athens City Council adopted a slate of ordinances and motions on Oct. 6, 2025, approving budget adjustments, contract authorities, public-safety and housing regulations, and a bond refunding for the municipal swimming pool. Council also voted to table one ordinance concerning the sale of two city-owned properties so the items can be split and handled with separate funding sources.
The meeting included roll-call voice votes or unanimous voice approvals on multiple items. Several items were adopted after suspension of the usual three-reading rule where a timing requirement or payment deadline applied.
