The matter is procedural at this point: House and Senate conferees agreed to exchange a proposed conference draft and to meet again to continue discussion. House conferees said they would have a draft ready the following day.
House conferees (House co-chair) told the committee, “we're working on a proposed draft, conference draft. The intent is to remove budget and finance from the reporting process and ask that, Department of Defense, administrative, and the governor's office be the reporting entities to the legislature.” Senator Elefante (Senate chair) replied that the timing worked for the Senate side and agreed to reconvene.
No formal votes or policy decisions were recorded in the session. The committee set a follow-up meeting for Wednesday, April 23, at 1:30 p.m. in Conference Room 016 to continue work on the language and to exchange the draft.
The conference committee did not finalize statutory text or adopt a conference draft during the April 22 meeting; members said a draft would be provided before the next meeting.
