Staff recommended soliciting bids and returning to council with offers rather than setting a fixed price. Council members discussed options including seeking appraisals, asking realtors for market estimates, setting a minimum bid or reserving the right to reject all bids; staff confirmed the property has been tax‑exempt while owned by the nonprofit and therefore has no current assessed value.
Council member Kathy Copp moved to approve issuing a request for bids; Ken Killian seconded. The roll call vote recorded yes votes from Doss, Gates, Killian, Nall, Parrot and Copp; motion carried. Council directed staff to prepare a bid package and explore market valuation options; staff will return to council with any bids and recommendations.
