San Mateo LAFCO names voting delegate for CALAFCO conference and directs SDRMA election vote

By motion, Vice Chair Chen Crowley moved to appoint Chair Karen Mueller as the commission’s voting delegate for the CALAFCO conference, with the executive officer authorized to file required paperwork and to handle alternates; Commissioner Rinaldi seconded. The motion passed on roll call: Commissioner Rudolph, yes; Commissioner Draper, yes; Commissioner Rinaldi, aye; Commissioner Martin, aye; Vice Chair Chen Crowley, aye; Chair Mueller, yes.
On a related matter, the commission discussed SDRMA board elections. Five candidates were running for four seats; staff recommended the commission direct the executive officer on how to cast its vote. Vice Chair Chen Crowley moved, and Commissioner Rinaldi seconded, that one of the commission’s votes be cast for the candidate identified in the record as Virginia Jane Crowley (motion record uses this name). Public comment supported that candidate’s financial qualifications. The commission approved the direction by roll call vote, recorded as: Commissioner Rudolph, aye; Commissioner Draper, yes; Commissioner Rinaldi, aye; Commissioner Martin, aye; Vice Chair Chen Crowley, aye; Chair Mueller, yes.
Staff will complete and submit delegate paperwork for CALAFCO and will submit the SDRMA election form by the September deadline.
