On resident referrals and census, staff reported 111 residents at the start of the month, 84 referrals, 15 admissions and 69 not admitted; the month ended with 116 residents. Fireside, the short-term rehab household, has consistent staffing and is steadily filling, though it experienced a short-term dip related to the recent staff COVID exposure.
Facilities staff reported several maintenance items completed: new phone system installation, upcoming change of fire-system monitoring vendor, completion of oven installation and breaker work, and the start of annual room safety audits and life-safety survey preparations for the East building. Room audits review beds, remotes, electrical outlets and fire doors.
On revalidation, staff said facilities that accept Medicare had to complete federal revalidation this year; two of three submissions have been accepted and one remains under review. The process was described as document-intensive and likely to generate requests for further documentation from federal reviewers.
