Parents urge district action after near‑miss at Sunbury Road bus stop; transportation follow‑up requested

Detweiler said residents have repeatedly contacted transportation and requested that buses stop inside the cul‑de‑sac so children would not need to cross a 55 mph county road; she said responses from transportation and the county sheriff's office were not definitive. The resident asked the board to involve transportation director Ryan and the sheriff's office for enforcement or to consider routing changes to avoid the hazard.
Board members asked her to provide materials to Superintendent and transportation staff for follow‑up; Superintendent asked to receive the video and stated staff would follow up and that Detweiler also should contact Ryan directly. The district said it would coordinate with Delaware County Sheriff's Office where appropriate because Sunbury Road is a county road.
