Columbia County commissioners unanimously adopted Resolution 25-2025-R31 to approve the county's updated Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS), county staff said.

Staff told the board that the LMS is required to be updated every five years to maintain eligibility for mitigation funding. The county's LMS Working Group spent several months preparing the update. The updated strategy was submitted to the state's emergency management review office, which staff said reviewed and approved the update before presenting it to the board for adoption.

A commissioner moved to adopt the resolution and the board approved the motion by voice vote.

Staff did not present additional changes to policy; the action recorded in the meeting was the formal adoption of the LMS update by resolution.
