Human resources presented the Dawson County proposed payroll and holiday calendar for 2026 during the Aug. 21 work session and asked the board to include the item on the consent agenda for formal approval.
Christy Family, identified in the packet as the county's human resources director, told commissioners the calendar is a continuation of the current schedule with payroll adjustments but no additional requested holidays. "This is a proposal for the 2026 payroll and holiday calendar, that's in your packet," Christy said in the presentation.
Commissioners asked no substantive questions about holidays or payroll changes; the chairman recommended placing the calendar on the consent agenda so the full board can adopt it at the next meeting.
No budgetary or policy changes were proposed in the work session; staff presented the item for routine adoption.
