The Johnson County Redevelopment Authority on Aug. 25 elected officers and approved actions to authorize lease rental revenue bonds and retain an underwriter.
A roll call at the 11:01 a.m. special meeting showed Commissioner Ryan Beirne, Commissioner Ron West and Commissioner Kevin Walls present. The authority voted to install Bridal Barrett as president, Kevin Walls as vice president and Ron West as secretary; each nomination was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
The board then considered Resolution 2025-RDA-1, described in the meeting as “a resolution of the Johnson County Redevelopment Authority approving a proposed lease, authorizing the issuance of the Johnson County Redevelopment Authority lease rental revenue bonds and taking certain other actions related thereto.” There were no questions from the board during the discussion; the motion to approve the resolution was made, seconded and carried by voice vote.
The authority also ratified an engagement letter with Raymond James for underwriting services in connection with the lease rental bonds, Series 02/2025. That ratification was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
In new business the board briefly discussed meeting frequency; members indicated annual meetings would likely suffice for this matter and that future financing steps could be placed on the board of finance agenda. The meeting adjourned shortly after those items were completed.
