At the May 12, 2025 meeting, the Snellville Mayor and Council voted unanimously to award the city’s annual resurfacing and paving contract (PW250306) to E.R. Snell in the amount of $759,699.78.
City staff said the annual street program combines local LOST funds with state Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) contributions; staff noted the LMIG allocation for the city was doubled this year compared with recent cycles. Public Works identifies the worst-condition streets each year and places them on the resurfacing list for a single contract.
The project list for this contract includes Presidential Circle and Medical Way (roads behind the Target shopping center that lead to the hospital), Stockton Walk Lane and Stockton Walk Court, Blackberry Court, Burlington Lane, an unnamed connector off Presidential Circle, and streets in the Farmington neighborhood including Heart Ridge Drive and Fallow Ridge Court. The county recently repaved Tree Lane around the hospital; the city will repave the connecting streets listed above. Council members praised E.R. Snell as a long-time local contractor and confirmed the city awarded the work to the low bidder.
The motion to award the bid carried by voice vote; the council recorded a 5–0 vote in favor. City staff said additional streets may be added to the list if contract savings leave remaining funds when the listed work is complete.
