The Kershaw County School District Board of Trustees convened an executive session on Aug. 5 to discuss resignations and retirements of certified and classified personnel, the employment and assignment transfers of certified and classified personnel, and a contractual matter. After returning to open session the board voted to approve the personnel actions discussed in executive session.
The board's motion to approve the personnel items was made by Coach Blackman and seconded by Owen Furnace; the motion carried by voice vote. The board did not release names or specific details about the personnel actions during the public portion of the meeting. Prior to the closed session the board had moved and seconded to enter executive session (the second was recorded as Autumn Furnace). The items approved were described by the chair as resignations, retirements, employment and assignment changes and transfers of certified and classified staff.
Because personnel matters are confidential, the board limited public comment on the content of those discussions and provided no further particulars at the meeting.
