The committee received an operational update on street maintenance and seasonal services.
Forrest (Street operations staff) said staff completed shouldering where overlays occurred and listed neighborhoods served during the recent work. He said crews are behind by two days on leaf-pile pickup because of recent rain, and that staff have used Kennedy Park and Machmuller as temporary dump areas to reduce turnaround time instead of running to Ryan Street for every trip.
Forrest said Ryan Street staff are processing brush and compost and that staff have stockpiled about 5,000 cubic yards of topsoil for village and contractor use. He described an instance where incoming crushed asphalt contained sod and dirt that had to be separated before crushing.
The committee discussed winter prep: staff are exercising hydrants and retrofitting non‑draining hydrants and performing generator maintenance and inlet repairs as needed. No committee action was required on the operations report.
