Board member seeks expedited review of outdated ordinances; staff scheduling meeting with state emergency services

Planning staff said they are working to schedule a meeting with state emergency services and expect to meet by the end of the month to evaluate flood- and storm-related ordinances and to align the city's land-development code with applicable state guidance and the city's code of ordinances. Staff confirmed the review will include the 16-inch fill standard and other standards identified at prior meetings and that any land-development-code changes will be returned to the Planning Board for review.
"We are going to be evaluating the land development code to make sure that it's in compliant with some of the state guiding standards and requirements and in line with our code of ordinances," staff said, confirming intent to review the 16-inch fill standard specifically.
No formal action was taken; staff said it will report back with the results of the meeting and proposed code adjustments.
