Eli and Gabe, student announcers for Fort Thomas Independent, listed several upcoming school events during the Oct. 9 announcements, including a volunteer call for Johnson’s Hullabaloo on Oct. 11 and the Homecoming parade scheduled for Oct. 22.
The announcers said Johnson’s Hullabaloo will take place Saturday, Oct. 11, and that organizers are “looking for helping hands”; students were directed to check the link at school to sign up. The Homecoming Parade on Oct. 22 is open to all groups; participants were told to coordinate sign-ups through their coach or sponsor.
The announcers also said the varsity football team will play at 7 p.m. Friday against Elder High School and encouraged students to attend in support of the Bluebirds. An informational meeting for the Governor’s Scholars program is set for Friday after school in the library; students with questions were told to see Ms. Schnitzler.
Additional routine announcements included that detention for the day will meet with Ms. Simon in Room 213 and that the cafeteria will serve Marco’s pizza and barbecue ribs tomorrow. The announcers reminded students that World Mental Health Day falls on Friday, Oct. 10, and encouraged them to spend time with friends or family.
