Committee members discussed previous precedents for variances: staff recalled similar variances granted in 2017 and 2019 for properties at about 350 feet and other comparable distances. A motion was made to recommend the village find sanitary sewer service to 8901 Birch Street is not available; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. Staff said Marathon County typically requires the village to state whether a property is served by public sanitary sewer before the county will approve a new private septic permit as part of a real-estate transaction.
