The Anaheim Union High School District Board of Trustees reported several personnel actions in its closed-session report and announced additional administrative appointments during open session.
In closed session the board unanimously approved a settlement agreement with a parent providing reimbursement for outside services, according to the clerk’s report. The board also voted unanimously to appoint Diana Fujimoto as director of curriculum, instruction and professional learning effective Aug. 8, 2025.
Board members then reported site-level appointments and invited those appointees to speak. Sierra Perez was introduced as principal at Savannah High School; Juan Alvarez was introduced as assistant principal at Savannah High School; and Ryan Ward was introduced as assistant principal at Catella High School. Each accepted the invitation to briefly address trustees and the audience and thanked colleagues, family and community members for their support.
Diana Fujimoto, who began her 33rd year in education and previously served in multiple district roles, told the board she was “incredibly honored and humbled” to step into the new director role and reiterated a commitment to supporting teachers and centering student success. The clerk’s report also said the board unanimously appointed Dr. Jaren Fried as superintendent (reported separately) and that no action was taken on negotiations and personnel items for which no reportable action was required.
The board did not provide dollar amounts for the settlement in the reported summary, and the clerk’s report did not list vote-by-name details for the settlement or the director appointment. Trustees said the appointments reflect part of routine personnel actions to staff district leadership and school sites.
