Dawson County seeks approval to add treatment-court case manager as part of FY26 grant

Brad Williams, director of Dawson County’s Judicial Accountability Division, asked commissioners June 5 to approve creation of a clinical case manager position for the county’s treatment court and to accept the fiscal year 2026 treatment court grant.
Williams said the grant provides funding for the new position’s salary and benefits and therefore would not be an additional expense to the county. He said the grant provides $40,000 in salary (about $19.23 per hour) and $17,329 for fringe benefits to fund the position. Williams said the total FY26 award is $321,442, with a county match of $56,725 that is currently met by existing salary positions.
Williams asked that both the personnel change and the grant acceptance be moved forward to the board’s voting session that same day, citing a June 30 grant acceptance deadline and a scheduling conflict the next regular meeting (Juneteenth). The board consented to move the items forward for action at the voting session.
No final hiring action was recorded at the work session; Williams asked for approval to create the position and acceptance of the grant at the forthcoming voting session.
