Experts, communities press for limits as groundwater nitrate contamination persists

Mary Hamilton, manager for the Central Coast irrigated lands program, told the panel that "la carga de nitrato continua muy excesiva" in parts of the Central Coast and highlighted a 44% exceedance rate of the nitrate maximum contaminant level in one county in 2024.
