Brown County approves multi-year fair contracts, new fair board appointment and event bookings

The commission approved trying the new vendor. Commissioners approved an entertainment booking described as a dog show called "Jurassic Park" at $9,000 plus hotel rooms for staff; the act would perform seven days of shows. The commission also approved a lumberjack show for $12,000 for a grandstand performance and discussed possible future interest in a demo derby for 2026.
The commission approved extending a grandstand-cleaning contract for a third year with the incumbent. Shipley also requested approvals for travel: several board members will attend the Rocky Mountain Fair Association event and the Heartland Convention in Minot to review potential acts; the commission authorized travel for board members to Minot.
