On Aug. 19 Salt Lake City planning staff briefed the council on proposed clarifications and limited adjustments to the building-preservation and adaptive-reuse incentive ordinance that the council adopted in July 2024. The ordinance created two incentive tracks—(A) use-based incentives and (B) preservation-based incentives—to encourage retention or reuse of eligible buildings generally 50 years or older.
