General counsel and administration said the policy intentionally leaves administrative guidelines to clarify day-to-day implementation; one passage in the draft states that "non‑educational or non‑program related materials" are not permitted to return to school. Member Molnar said she had submitted a committee-approved sentence intended to clarify the "core curriculum" definition and that the version in the packet did not precisely match her submitted wording.
Vote: The motion to waive a second reading and approve the five policies passed on a roll call vote, 4-3. The recorded yes votes were Vice President Alexander, Member Autry, Member Hall and President Carla Jackson; the no votes were Member Molnar, Member Sykes and Member Harrison.
