The PITTSFORD CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT Board of Education on May 13 approved professional and support staff reports, and voted to abolish three clerical positions as part of administrative restructuring.
Director of Human Resources Clark (first introduced in the meeting as Mr. Clark) presented the professional‑staff report listing certificated appointments, provisional and probationary appointments, supervisory and technical appointments, a managerial confidential appointment, resignations and per‑diem substitute assignments. The board moved to accept the professional‑staff report and approved it without opposition.
The support‑staff report included a number of transportation appointments and resignations, custodial and cleaner resignations and retirements. The board accepted the support‑staff report as presented.
Human resources also recommended abolishing three positions following a review of staffing needs: Assistant to the Director of Food Service (clerical), Middle School Library Clerk, and a part‑time Data Assessment Clerk. Clark said the Assistant to the Director of Food Service position is no longer needed following the hiring of an Assistant Director, that paraprofessional and clerical support could meet needs previously covered by the middle‑school library clerk, and that computer‑based testing reduced the need for the part‑time data assessment clerk.
Board member Dave Berg seconded the motion to abolish the three positions; the motion carried with no opposition.
Why it matters: the district said the abolishments are part of a planned audit and restructuring intended to align clerical staffing with current program needs and technology changes rather than to eliminate student programs. The HR report also included multiple hires and resignations that will be processed according to district practice.
Next steps: the district will carry out the personnel changes per usual employment and labor protocols; specific severance, displacement or bumping details were not specified in the public minutes.
