County OKs up to $67,000 reimbursement contract for developmental disability employment services

Gina James, representing Health and Human Services, said the board had already approved a state contract that funds these services and that Employers Overload is one of several local pass-through providers. The county’s contract was described as reimbursement of up to $67,000 for the year.
During public comment a resident asked whether the amount was sufficient for broader homelessness support; James replied the contract is for a specific employment and day program and that other programs and funding sources exist. Commissioners discussed the broader provider network, noting the county will have around five providers when current procurement is complete and that larger providers such as LifeWorks receive separate funding allocations.
A motion to approve the contract passed by voice vote after a brief discussion; no roll-call tally was recorded in the public transcript.
The contract was presented as part of the county’s ongoing implementation of a recently approved state contract; staff said one additional pass-through contract with Goodwill is expected to come to the board at a later meeting.
