3 Rivers School District Superintendent Sease briefed the Village of North Bend council on Sept. 29, reporting the district scored 4.5 out of 5 on the Ohio school report card and remarking the score places the district among the top 23% of districts in the state.
Sease said the district performed strongly in most measures but received a lower score on the newly introduced college/career/military readiness measure, which the superintendent said was reported before the district received full guidance on reporting criteria. “We scored a 4 and a half. It’s out of 5,” Sease said. He added the district found reporting inaccuracies for certain credentialing measures that will be corrected once the state updates how subtest reporting is interpreted.
Sease said the district’s graduation rate was nearly 100% last year and described areas to target: partnering with local businesses to expand pre-apprenticeship pathways and clarifying state reporting procedures so qualifying credentials are counted properly.
Why it matters: the report-card outcome is a common proxy for district performance and can affect public perception, grant eligibility and local school planning.
