Student council rep reports on picture day, games, regional conference and homecoming at Whitehall High

A student council representative at the Whitehall Copley School District board meeting on Sept. 22 updated the board on school events and extracurricular activities at Whitehall High School.
The student council representative reported that picture day “went well,” and described a 9/11 display and ceremony where volunteers placed 2,977 small flags on campus as a tribute to lives lost on Sept. 11. The representative also said a class of 1975 returned for a tour and were honored at a recent football game.
Recent and upcoming events cited included meet-the-teacher night and a financial aid night for families; several senior nights for fall sports including golf, girls tennis and cross country; mentor nights for football, cheerleading, cross country and field hockey; and marching band competition activity. The representative said the band received a new trailer dedicated to Bobby Warman and that the student council is preparing to host a regional conference at Whitehall High School.
She also announced that the homecoming dance is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 4, with tickets on sale and a theme of “Night Under the Stars.” The student council representative concluded, “That is all I have for you tonight.”
Separately during the recognitions section, a board member thanked Fellowship Community (noted in the meeting as represented by Tracy Kleppinger Bozek) and the Whitehall Township Police Department and its officers for donating school supplies to students.
