Adler said she began as a teacher before attending law school, has served as a hearing officer for educator‑licensing disciplinary matters, worked as an investigator and trainer with the State Board of Education’s professional practices office, and has provided legal counsel to school districts on employment and human‑resources issues. “I have acted as a hearing officer in the educator licensing capacity and in public education employment capacity,” she told the council.
