Council hears bids for Marshall Health Network Arena catwalk and rigging; NeighborGolf recommended after value engineering

Bids for the catwalk and rigging were received with NeighborGolf Construction of Huntington submitting $3,390,007.20 and Maynard C. Smith Construction of Charleston submitting $4,015,000. Montgomery said the NeighborGolf bid has since been value engineered down to $2,000,000 "even" and the purchasing division recommends awarding the contract to NeighborGolf with funding from the 2024 bond.
Phoebe Patton Randolph, the project's architect (identified in the meeting as the architect on the project), described the work as expanding coverage area for new steel and making significant changes in rigging approach to address safety and increase capacity.
