Decatur County adopts updated Title 6 nondiscrimination implementation policy

The Decatur County Commissioners voted on Sept. 26 to adopt an updated Title 6 nondiscrimination implementation policy and to place the required forms on county files and the county website.

Why it matters: updating Title 6 implements nondiscrimination obligations and ensures county policies reflect the procedures staff will follow; the forms are part of the documentation to demonstrate compliance.

What happened: county staff presented the updated Title 6 materials and the commissioners moved and seconded to adopt the update. Commissioners then signed the required forms; staff said three forms needed signatures and that the materials will appear on the county website. A commissioner noted the county reviews similar materials yearly or as required and will update going forward.

Next steps: staff will post the updated Title 6 implementation materials and retain the signed forms with the auditor’s office.
