County approves $7,251.75 security-camera installation for public health building

Diane Begg, the Marshall County public health administrator, asked the commissioners on Oct. 6 to approve a security camera and access system for the county health department offices at the former Bowen Center, 990 Illinois Street.
Begg said the building had limited after-hours security and that the department needs cameras to protect genealogy records, birth and death records, medical records and computer systems. Staff obtained three estimates and recommended ARC Security as the local vendor. The ARC Security quote presented to commissioners totaled $7,251.75.
The board approved the ARC Security contract by voice vote; Begg said departmental budget funds were available to pay for the purchase.
Commissioners welcomed Begg to her new role and approved the contract as presented.
