Boone County approves 4-way stop at County Roads 500 West and 750 South

County Highway Superintendent Nick Favre said the change was recommended because of limited site visibility at the intersection and that the measure had been discussed at a previous meeting. The ordinance was on its second reading; commissioners opened a public hearing and, with no members of the public speaking, closed it before voting to adopt the ordinance.
Favre said the change follows the county’s standard procedure for traffic control changes and noted that multiple meetings are required for ordinance changes affecting traffic schedules. Commissioners moved to adopt the ordinance on second reading; the motion carried unanimously.
The measure directs county highway staff to install signage and take necessary steps to implement the all-way stop at the specified intersection. No timetable for sign installation was provided during the meeting.
Ordinance 2025-10 was the only item related to traffic schedule changes discussed at the meeting; commissioners proceeded to other business after the vote.
