Claims and payroll: Commissioners ratified claims dated Sept. 22 (grand total $348,688.19), Sept. 29 (grand total $310,717.64) and Oct. 6 (grand total $491,507.12). The board approved two preapproved claims—a $250,000 payment to Kelly Automotive Group (described in the record as ARPA funds used for Tahoe purchases) and $1,521.92 to Macalester Machinery—and approved Payroll No. 20 (gross $692,314.54). Motions to ratify each item were made and passed by voice vote.
Minutes and reports: Commissioners approved executive‑session minutes from Sept. 15 (one abstention recorded) and acknowledged receipt of the clerk’s monthly report for August.
Administrative schedules and notices: The board approved the proposed 2026 holiday schedule and payroll schedule (the auditors noted there will be 27 pay periods in 2026 rather than the usual 26). The county opened a farmland lease bidding period and scheduled the public opening of bids on Oct. 14 at 5 p.m. in the council chambers; a joint session with the county council to discuss the jail project was scheduled that evening at 6 p.m.
Other routine approvals: Commissioners accepted an EMA release‑of‑liability form (also covered in separate action) and acknowledged receipt of routine monthly reports from central dispatch, health department and others.
