At its Oct. 2 meeting, the Grosse Ile Community Recreation Commission approved the meeting agenda and the minutes from Aug. 7 by voice vote and agreed to cancel the Nov. 6 meeting because several commissioners will be at an annual conference.
The meeting opened with a motion to approve the agenda, a second and a voice vote. The commission then moved to approve minutes from the Aug. 7 meeting; that motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. Later in the meeting the chair asked whether members were comfortable foregoing the Nov. 6 meeting; a motion to skip the November meeting was made, seconded and approved by voice vote with the commission agreeing to reconvene on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. in the same boardroom.
Commissioners also discussed that nominations for a new commissioner have been received; the chair said the commission will vote on adding a new member in December and, if approved, will forward the candidate to the board for final appointment with hopes of seating the new member in January. No formal vote to appoint a new commissioner occurred on Oct. 2.
The chair moved to adjourn near the end of the meeting; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
