The Grosse Ile Greenways Open Space Committee on Oct. 7 reviewed its Sept. 6 “Dump the Junk, Find a Treasure” event, saying the single 2025 edition drew heavy demand, filled all available roll-off containers and raised operational questions for future events.
The committee chair said the event recorded “325 vehicles” and “we filled 18 dumpsters,” adding that “more than 150” people participated as treasure seekers or donors. The committee thanked DPS staff and volunteers for staffing the gate and managing traffic during peak periods.
