Dade County to replace aging water-treatment backwash tank using SPLOST funds
County water staff told commissioners the plant’s backwash tank — in use since 1962 — is leaking at the base and cannot be repaired. The county requested SPLOST capital funds to buy a larger replacement tank (96,000-gallon capacity) at a contract price of $453,312; the vendor will supply temporary tanks during the swap and maintain the new tank.
