Homewood planning committee drops two tabled development items

The Homewood City Planning and Development Committee on Oct. 6, 2025, voted unanimously to remove and then drop two previously tabled development items involving properties described in the meeting as located on Hughes Circle and New Circle.

The actions affect a proposal described by staff as a nine-lot residential subdivision comprising about seven acres. Committee members voted 5-0 both to take each item off the table and to drop the items, meaning no approvals were granted and the developer will need to resubmit if it seeks committee action again.

For the second item — recorded in the transcript as a request for a final development plan for “Property 101 and 109 New Circle,” described in the meeting as a nine-residential-lot plan across roughly seven acres — the committee likewise voted to take the item off the table and then to drop it, each vote passing 5-0.

A committee member said they had spoken with the developer and that the developer would need to return with a revised proposal, indicating the applications in their current form would not proceed. The committee recorded no additional directions to staff and no approvals of the proposals during the meeting.

There was no old business or new business beyond the handled tabled items, and the committee adjourned after the votes.
