Tiffin City Council scheduled a Personnel & Labor Relations Committee meeting for Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 5:15 p.m. in Council Chambers to consider Mayor’s request for legislation 25-51, the appointment of the finance director for the City of Tiffin.
Council discussed calendar constraints and then scheduled related committee meetings. The Street, Sidewalks & Sewers Committee was scheduled for Friday, Oct. 17 at 4:00 p.m. to discuss mayor’s requests 25-50 (street light in alley) and 25-53 (DORA review) and any other business. A separate committee meeting for recreation and public property and the street-sidewalks committee were also discussed for Oct. 17 and related scheduling matters were settled.
Director of Law Zachary Fowler reminded council that the DORA review (25-53) is a required five-year review with no tightly prescribed statutory standards from the Division of Liquor Control; he encouraged councilors to request any materials they would like for that review from the city administrator. Fowler also noted the process for appointing an acting director of finance while the council considers the mayor’s appointment, including separate authorization for pay and benefits for an acting director when resolutions are drafted.
The personnel committee notice and the committee schedules were recorded in the clerk’s minutes and will be posted with meeting notices.
