Centennial resident tells council $100 million, 500-unit project stalled by five-year permitting delays

Anil Antal, who identified himself as a resident and project applicant with a working address in Centennial, told council his development proposal — which he estimated at about $100 million and described as roughly 500 apartments plus commercial uses — has been in permitting limbo since before the COVID pandemic.
Antal said his team has changed frequently over five years, that carrying costs and taxes on vacant lots are a growing burden, and that he needs clarity on next steps. "What to do? How to move forward?" he asked council, describing one lot as producing no income while accruing roughly $7,000 a year in property taxes.
City staff acknowledged the complications tied to the regulating plan and to existing site constraints and told Antal staff would arrange a follow-up meeting to review the project status and next steps. King (presentation staff) and other staff offered to meet to go over outstanding items and the application pathway.
