SALT LAKE CITY — On Oct. 7, 2025, the Utah Senate Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Confirmation Committee voted unanimously to favorably recommend Brett Vauros to the full Senate as a member of the Board of Pardons and Parole.
The nomination drew support from corrections officials, board staff and a criminal-justice advocate who told the committee Vauros’s deep institutional experience would allow him to “hit the ground running.” The full Senate will consider the nomination at 4:00 p.m. on Oct. 15, 2025.
Vauros, nominated by Gov.
