Amherst finance committee excuses absent director, records unanimous procedural votes and adjourns

At the start of the Oct. 13, 2025 meeting, the Amherst Finance Committee voted 7-0 to excuse the safety service director (Jeffreys) from that evening’s meeting based on a letter on file.

Mister Heberlin moved to excuse the safety service director; Mister Neuhorn seconded. The motion passed on a voice vote recorded as 7 to 0. The committee then proceeded to consider two substantive items and later voted to advance both items to the full city council (ordinances 8 25 31 and A25 32), each on 7-0 voice votes.

At the close of the meeting, Mister Ruckold moved to adjourn and Mister Maywood seconded; the committee voted 7-0 to adjourn at 6:36 p.m.
