Chair Earl introduced the motion and told board members, “this program is going away. But until we have something else in place, we don't have all the rules yet. We've gotta continue this until then.” He added that some schools are using the PRIME pilot now, so the board needs a rule in place until the first credential program is established.
After debate and a roll-call vote, the board approved the motion 13 in favor, one opposed (Member Boggess), and one absent. Board members indicated the item will return in the future when replacement credential rules are ready; no further amendments were made at this meeting.
The board then moved to the superintendent’s report and a scheduled break.
