Recorder promotes free property-fraud alerts; county election filing dates set

Augie, speaking for the recorder’s office, said the program sends a phone or email notification whenever a document recorded in the office includes a subscriber’s name. The recorder’s office is distributing informational flyers and will provide notifications to people who sign up; the office will verify suspicious recordings and advised contacting law enforcement if fraudulent documents appear.
Augie also reviewed offices up for election countywide: sheriff, county clerk and recorder, and treasurer. Petition circulation was reported as under way; the first date to file is Oct. 27 and the last date is Nov. 3. The transcript lists the primary election as March 17 next year and the general election as Nov. 3 next year.
The recorder’s remarks were delivered as a departmental report and drew no public comment in the recorded segment. The office encouraged signups for the fraud-alert program and said flyers are being given with recorded deeds and land records.
