The Hayward Lakes Visitors and Convention Bureau reported to the Sawyer County Board that engaged website sessions were up 42% from the previous month, a metric the bureau uses to measure meaningful user interaction beyond page views.
The bureau said it is ramping up fall advertising, listing planned buys with WTMJ’s Experience Wisconsin, Staypoint Media, Star Tribune digital placements, Midwest Outdoors and a YouTube campaign. It also said it is sponsoring the Mad Dog and Merrill television show and running a full-page advertorial and ad with Midwest Bridal. The bureau described a billboard co-sponsored with the Hayward Area Chamber on Highway 27 directing visitors to the information center.
The bureau emphasized fall-color promotion: it has six curated fall-color tours across Sawyer County with signage and a brochure available at the bureau’s office, and the bureau’s representative said they will provide regular updates to the Travel Wisconsin fall-color report during peak season.
On local economic indicators, the bureau said second-quarter room-tax receipts received so far suggest early summer numbers are up and that anecdotal reports from businesses indicate a positive summer season.
